Is this the dreaded 'vote of confidence'

Now he's been officially backed by the board has he moved one step closer to the sack?

The statement has highlighted that it's a results business and City face two games in three days after the international break.

Taking time to think about things are we just following protocol?

The club have gone from bad result to bad result for a year now but no one has made a stand against it.

Over the last couple of games there has been more and more animosity towards Jones culminating at Charlton with passion in the stands with fans facing up to each other. Add to that the verbal assault on Ridsdale.

Now the board are fully aware of the fans feeling and have now officially given what amounts to be a final warning for Jones.

They maybe thinking about giving him 5 games to sort it out but we have two games in three days after the international break. The second one on TV. Those two results could be the biggest of Dave Jones' Cardiff City career.

It's not what i expected, i'm still very wary about Ridsdale's / the boards intentions and motives but I think we have no choice but to wait for those two games.

If we lose to Ipswich then I think Jones will find out exactly what the fans think and failure at Leicester will force Ridsdales axe to fall.

Jones' position, in my opinion, is far from safe.
