Collins played as a striker for Wales U21's and had an eventful night. The only goal of the game came on 7 mins when James Collins' flicked header was volleyed home by Coventry's David Pipe from 12 yards.

On 30 mins Wales skipper Rhys Day (currently with Mansfield, he played against City last week) was sent off along with Azeri midfielder Fagan Shahbazov. An incident in the penalty box that saw Shahbazov fall to the ground holding his face was concluded with both players being sent off.

James Collins took over the role of captain for the final hour.

Collins' night was nearly complete on 42 mins. Wales won a penalty and Collins stepped up only to see his effort saved.

Wales saw out the game and were thankful to Whitfield in the Welsh goal who twice in the closing stages made super saves. He was alert to keep out a 35 yard effort and had the last touch of the game as he saved a Zaur Hashimov free kick.
