James Collins' agency announced this afternoon that the City and Wales defender has signed a new contract at Ninian Park.

James has put pen to papaer on a new 3.5 year deal.

James told the Stellar group website (stellargroup.co.uk)

"I am really pleased to have signed this new deal. It has been hard work establishing myself in the first team, but the manager has given me my chance and I am determined to take it.

"We haven't played nearly as well as we should have done this season. We have some excellent players and an excellent manager but for some reason things just haven't clicked."

It's been a mix week for Collins. He scored his fisrt goal of the season at Blackburn but ended up on the losing side. Then the unfortunate news that he had lost his Welsh caps in a burglary but the week has ended better with the news of his new contract.
