Jenkins and Legg in talks with Peterborough

Last updated : 01 July 2003 By Michael Morris
Cardiff City could see two more players leaving. Peterborough Utd have met today with out of contract defender Steve Jenkins and say they had a "positive meeting" with the player. Jenkins has returned to South Wales to discuss the matter with his family.

Barry Fry has also confirmed he has made an offer to Andy Legg. Andy has been offered a one year deal by Cardiff City. If Legg fails to agree his Ninian Park contract then a return to his former club could be a strong possibility.

Fry told the official peterborough website

"We had a meeting with Steve Jenkins today who has played 18 times for Wales. He is currently out of contract at Cardiff City and we want to bring him to London Road. We had a good positive meeting about football with him and he has gone back to talk to his family about committing himself to Posh.

'We have also discussed signing Andy Legg who played 46 games for Cardiff in their promotion season last year. We have made an offer to him and we have to wait and see. Cardiff are meeting him today to discuss the offer they have made and an outcome will be resolved soon"
