Jones and Coyle on Cardiff 3 - 1 Burnley

Dave Jones is keeping automatic promotion in his sight's as City enter the last four games of the season

"We have said all along that we will just keep chasing people down and see where that takes us," said Jones after seeing Ross McCormack score twice in the last 5 mins to earn a crucial victory over The Clarets.

"It was a hard win against a top-quality side. They are a very good team and the way they set up made them very hard to break down.

"That was a very difficult game for us. It could really have gone either way, but once they opened up we capitalised on it.

"We got our noses in front, then we had a mistake from Darren Purse, but fair play to them we kept going and got the goal - and then the third one from Ross was out of the top drawer.

"It was a packed house and I think every supporter should go home very happy, apart from the Burnley fans of course."

Owen Coyle was disappointed to see his side concede three late goals but is still happy to be clear in the play off places.

"As it is, we are in the same position we were in before the Bank Holiday, and if somebody had said to me at the start of the season we would be four points clear, then we would have taken that.

"We have to concentrate on what we can do, and if we do that, it will serve us well."

Coyle added: "I think what you do recognise in this league is that you cannot switch off for a second, and I am disappointed in the manner of the goals we lost.

"We controlled the game for large periods and looked very comfortable.

"We restricted them to very few opportunities, but the first one was basic defending from a throw in, even though their lad has put in a top quality finish.

"We got back in with an equaliser and straight from the kick off we have switched off again from a long ball put through.

"It was naïve at best and I have let the players know that.

"I don't know if it was two games in two days, but the concentration levels have to be at the maximum at this level.

"Cardiff are a good side, but we have more than matched them, so there was a lot to be pleased about, but I am just disappointed by the goals, to be honest and we will dust ourselves down and look to bounce back quickly."
