Jones and his squad oozing confidence

City go into the match with Forest knowing a win will take them to the top of the Championship (for 24 hours at least - Newcastle play on Monday).

Forest themselves though are a form team. 5 wins in the last 6 and unbeaten away from home. The teams should put on a decent spectacle for the watching BBC2 and BBC HD audience.

"We are able to score goals from all sorts of situations - long throws, corners, free-kicks, open play," Jones continued.

"We are always working on all aspects of scoring goals. The team is on fire in attacking terms and we have to continue that.

"Everybody is working hard and is full of confidence. Chops has not scored for a few games, but he is still a massive influence on those around him. He creates chances for others. It's good for the team to have everybody chipping in."

Stephen McPhail is expected to be fit after suffering a dead leg at Bramall Lane last weekend. Ross McCormack and Warren Feeney should be on the bench as City's first XI is set to remain unchanged.

Injuries to Kevin McNaughton, Tony Capaldi and loanee Kelvin Etuhu keep them out of the squad.

Robert Earnshaw is not expected to be fit for today's game and Forest are set to be with Dexter Blackstock as well.

Forest boss Billy Davies is happy to be in 10th place and would be happy if he finished the season there.

"I must admit that if we finished the season in the position we're currently in then I would be absolutely delighted, along with my staff and players," he insisted.

"That would represent a hugely successful season.

"In my opinion, if we could finish in 10th spot it would be a fantastic progression - a vast improvement on last season."

That is not to say the manager is surprised by Forest's recent surge in form.

"We've been on a very good run since the start of the season but we've got an excellent group of players," Davies said. "We're not getting carried away. We won't start to look ahead of ourselves, we'll continue to be realistic and continue to realise that we are a side that, at this moment in time, has work to do."

A Forest win would see the visitors jump 5 places.

Kick off today is at 5:00pm with the game live on BBC 2 and BBC HD.
