Jones and Keane pre match comments

Like anyone else viewing from the outside Keane sees City's position and some of their outstanding away results as an indicator that City can finish in the top 6 this campaign.

"Cardiff know where the back of the net is. They score goals for fun, particularly away from home," said Keane.

"They got six at Bristol City so there you go.

"They are a very good team that will no doubt cement a place in the play-offs in the next couple of months.

"They are balanced and very consistent with good strikers and internationals in their side."

Can Ipswich beat Cardiff tonight? At home and with their record against City at Portman Rd (Cardiff have won just once in 60 years), you would think Roy Keane would be confident but you get the feeling he's not convinced his side can guarantee a decent performance.

"We are capable beating any team and if we perform we can cause problems," added Keane.

"But causing problems and winning games are different things.

"We need to be more ruthless. We are letting teams off the hook week-in, week-out.

"We have gifted so many points away and are giving teams a helping hand.

"Teams do their homework on us and focus on how we concede.

"They will see certain players they can work on."

Dave Jones thinks that Ipswich will be safe from relegation. At the moment they are just one point above the drop zone. Their problem is they draw too many games. 17 so far this season, more than any other club in the whole football league.

Jones told Cardiff's official website.

"Roy is a doing a good job and will turn Ipswich around just as he did at Sunderland. Ipswich are good enough to stay up. They are a fantastic football club with a good manager. They have some good players. Sometimes you go through a season where you think everything is in place and all of a sudden it doesn't work out as you'd like.

"Ipswich aren't doing as well as they expected, but in their case they brought in a new manager, new players came in and had to bed in. There were high expectation levels, but things don't happen overnight. When Roy went in, everybody assumed that was it, crash bang wallop, here we go, we're going to be fantastic. You've still got to earn the right, and get the right players, and that takes time. He's basically on the first rung of that ladder."
