Jones and Ridsdale looking at triple Scotch

Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale went North this week to scout new talent in Scotland.
Reports say they were at Dundee Utd v Hearts casting their eye over three potential targets.

Utd keeper Grzegorz Szamotulski is thought to be the main reason for the visit. City have lost Kasper Schmeichel this week and Szamotulski is a potential replacement. City could face competition from Celtic and Hearts though for his signature.

Dave Jones will revert for now to Michael Oakes. The former Wolves keeper has been Schmeichel's understudy.

"We've got an able goalkeeper in Oakesy," Jones said.

"He was unlucky to be left out in the first place, but you can't bring a Premiership goalkeeper in and then not play him."

There were two other names in the frame at Tannadice though Dundee United skipper Barry Robson and Hearts winger Andrew Driver were potential outsiders in the scouting stakes.
