Jones sweating on injury to Paul Parry

In a bizarre 9 minute spell Cardiff City used up three strikers and played the final 36 minuntes with 6 midfielders on the pitch and no centre forwards.

Steve Thompson was taken off at half time, most thought because of a poor first half but Dave Jones says it was because Thommo was feeling a tightness in his hamstring. He was replaced by Warren Feeney.

The then main concern, Paul Parry, who was limping at the end of the first half, failed to run off his hamstring trouble and he exited the field just 5 mins into the second half. It didn't look good but Jones is hopeful that Parry will recover in time for Sunday. Parry was replaced by Peter Whittingham.

Then 4 mins later Warren Feeney came off with a calf injury, only 9 mins after coming on.

Trevor Sinclair, who had an excellent all round game, went up front backed up by a 5 man midfield including Riccy Scimeca who came on for Feeney. It nearly worked as well with chances still being ceated.

"We took Paul off as a precaution as he was having a problem with his hamstring," said Jones.

"Looking at Sunday, well if I was going to play in an FA Cup semi-final I think I would play even if I had a broken leg."

Which suggests he might be expecting Parry to run out at Wembley.

City will have Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink available after suspension.
