"I could have comfortably put Koumas on the bench but he's not ready," said Jones.
"What's the point of pushing him and possibly losing him for four to five weeks?
"He is behind on training but we will get him up to speed.
"I needed to get him into the club. I did not want him improving his fitness at Wigan and then finding they had changed their mind about him signing for us."
Based on those comments Koumas is unlikely to to feature against Burton unless Jones wants to gradually introduce him into the team.
