Toni Kallio and Gregory Vignal were given a run out by Dave Jones as City lost to Deportivo on the weekend.

Kallio, nearly 50 Finnish caps to his name, played the open 45 mins. He was released by Fulham at the end of last season after spending several months on loan at Sheff Utd.

Vignal played the 2nd half. His previous clubs include Portsmouth and Liverpool.

Another triallist, Martin John, remained on the bench.

"They've been in with us over the week and we've been running the rule over them," Dave Jones told the official website.

"We were due to bring them in, but at this moment unless the embargo is lifted we can't sign anybody. We're still looking though. There are one or two other things that we're looking at and things we're trying to do, but we've got to get the embargo lifted off us - and if it doesn't then we have to go with what we've got."

Carsiff have Danny Drinkwater on loan and have signed Tom Heaton, both from Man Utd but until the transfer embargo is lifted they can't be registered to play this weekend or in the Carling Cup.
