Bates claims Dave Jones wants to be away and has been ringing around looking for a new job. He also says something similar about Coventry manager Aidy Boothroyd and in usual Ken Bates fashion gets a few digs in elsewhere as well.
When asked what he tought about Bates' words Dave Jones said:
"I'm not going to get into an argument with him but if he wants to pass comment on me, on rumours that he has heard, then he should phone me and ask me.
"Mr Bates has a lot more experience than me on worldly-wide matters but he doesn't know me. If he wants to find out what I'm doing, he should ring me."
