Kennedy: Critisism of us is justified

City squandered an 8 point and and 18 goal lead which included a game in hand.

"Players talking as if they were already in the play-offs need their heads banging together to be honest," said Kennedy

"You are only in the play-offs when your name is in the final four.

"That's maybe one of the reasons why we could not cross the finishing line.

"Every player must now look at themselves and think could I have done better?

"If the answer is yes, they should have a long look in the mirror.

"It should not have come to the last game of the season. We had plenty of opportunity to have nailed this before the last game of the season and we failed to complete the job.

"If we were good enough we would be in the top six but we're not.

"We need to have a serious look at ourselves.

"We had a great chance to have a memorable season and we put ourselves in an outstanding position...but we did not see the job off."

Speaking to the Echo Kennedy continued.

"The dressing room was a distraught place to be. It was simply awful but when you look at it we were simply not good enough.

"I've said it before, because we were good enough for 45 games it doesn't mean you're good enough for 46.

"There is no hiding place for any of us. We've had a lot of flak and criticism coming our way and it has been turned out to be justified.

"We had a massive opportunity to do big things at this club and we let it go. Nobody is to blame but ourselves.

"Regardless of goals for and against we finished seventh."
