The striker will hope to see Bournemouth over the line for promotion by moving to the south coast for the remainder of the season.

With Matt Connolly going to Watford last week it shows that the club have given up on tis season and are looking to cut any costs possible as the campaign rolls to a mid table end.

Russell Slade admitted the move, for Cardiff at least, was for business reasons.

Slade said of the Jones move: "Similar to the Connolly deal. It's a financial decision really.

"We are not going up or down at this stage so in financial terms, it made sense for us. It is not a footballing decision but I would like to wish Kenwyne all the very best until the end of the season at Bournemouth."
