What did he expect? Sloper Rd is closed to traffic as 11,000 or more people exit Ninian Park. Sam has been here long enough to know that trying to get his car out of the ground and onto Sloper Rd within minutes of the final whistle would be impossible.

The gates were closed and the police moved in to keep the crowd at bay.

Police Chief Inspector Andy Morgan, said: "There was a group of around 100 fans who wanted to discuss the club's current position with Mr Hammam, and it appeared they didn't hear what they wanted to hear."

Morgan added: "Nobody was arrested."
