Lack of facilities means Jones misses out

Jones has now directly blamed the poor facilities at Cardiff City for missing out on a new player.

'I have already missed out on one player I wanted,' said Jones 'We were close to the signing, but the player is moving to another club.

'We offered him more money than the other club, but he has moved because they have better facilities than us in terms of a stadium and training ground.

'It's not easy. When Roy Keane wants a player he invites them to the Stadium of Light and shows them the training ground. I dare not do that with the facilities we have at Cardiff City.

'But we will keep working to bring people in.'

The un-named player is thought to be Gary Roberts He has signed for Ipswich from Accrington. He has been on loan at Portman Rd and has now made his move permanent. Roberts scored a penalty for Ipswich against City at Ninian Park last month.
