Lennie Lawrence has promised the XI that lost against Blackpool last Saturday another chance to prove they should be in the first XI. He will only change the line up if there are injuries.

Two players are carrying knocks. Willie Boland and Gareth Whalley.

Should one of them miss then Layton Maxwell will start the game. If both players fail to make it then Jason Bowen could be thrown back into the first team after a long lay off through injury. Bowen has come through several reserve team games and is likely to be on the bench if Maxwell moves up and possibly in the team if the two players are out.

City's squad is Alexander, Weston, Prior, Gabbidon, Croft, Boland, Kavanagh, Whalley, Legg, Thorne, Earnshaw. Subs from Margetson, Barker, Maxwell, Leo FW, Campbell, Bowen, Hamilton.

City will be loking for a return to the top of Division 2 if Wigan lose at Luton. A win should be on the cards given City's improved home for and Tranmere's poor away form. Tranmere have a new face in their squad. Adam Proudlock has joined on loan from Wolves. City fans may remember that Proudlock scored the winner for Wolves in the pre season friendly at Ninian Park back in July.

Tranmere expecte to name youngster Alex Hay and veteran Stuart Barlow as their striker force. Simon Haworth is missing through suspension.

Tranmere squad is Achterberg, Connelley, Allen, Edwards, Nicholson, Taylor, Harrison, Melon, Roberts, Barlow, Hay. Subs Gray, Olsen, Hume, Sharps, Whitehead.

Tomorrow's game is live on Sky therefore kick off is at 5:35pm.
