Lawrence looking for a convincing performance.

"It wouldn't half be nice to wallop somebody," he told the Western Mail.

"It's the one thing we need to do for the fans as well as ourselves."
Lennie admitted that his side were not scoring enough goals and we have not seen a convincing victory. Onnly one league game this season, Port Vale at home have City scored more than twice.

"It's true that all - or most - of our games have been close. We've become more difficult to beat, but now I think we need a convincing win. It would be nice if the players could do that against Tranmere on Saturday."

Speaking of his injury / player selections for tomorrow Lennie said.

"There is a 50-50 chance of having to change the starting line-up - and that may necessitate me changing the shape as well. There are one or two injury worries (Boland and Whalley), but any change in personnel or shape would only come as a result of injuries and nothing else.

"Our performance at Blackpool was disappointing, but if everybody is fit then the same starting XI will be given a chance to put things right. I don't want people to be scapegoats for what was a poor team display.

"If we dip below par again against Tranmere, whether as a team or individuals, it will be a different story. I will then make changes."

The manager was not happy after last weeks defeat and gave the players a roasting in the dressing room after the game.

"Straight after the game he gave us a right good rollicking - and we deserved it". Graham Kavanagh told the Echo. "We were all disappointed with the performance because we let him, then fans and ourselves down."

Lennie confirmed Jason Bowen was in the squad for tomorrows game and hinted that if he did come in then the Bluebirds would possibly change shape to accomodate him.

"Jason gives you the option of playing in behind the front two. That is his best position."

City will be looking for an impressive performance in front of the live TV camera's.
