Lazarus? Collins the big comeback. Website reaction

James Collins was stretchered off the Wrexham pitch last Tuesday and it didn't look good. Early reports suggestered an 8 week lay off with possible broken bones and ligaments.

Today, just 4 days later James was not only on top form he gave City a huge bonus by scoring from a Kav free kick. The lack of goals from the City defence since Scott Young retired has long beeen a critisism but James timed his goal superbly and it killed off any hopes that Brighton harboured.

Peter Thorne scored from the spot in the 15th minute, Alan Lee headed Inamoto's cross onto the bar and as the ball dropped Langley was pushed to win the spot kick.

Thorne coolly despatched the kick and with Collins' goal soon after it was game over. Brighton had half chances but no more. To be honest it was the easiest game the City fans have witnessed of late. The second that Collins scored there was no City fans who thought we'd lose.

With other results now in City are 7 points above the drop zone. Not safe yet but in a better position that we were and closer to the top half than we are to the bottom three.

Next up Millwall. Feb 22nd.
