Ledley and Gunter get Wales call

For Ledley it's nothing new now to be called up but it's an amazing achievement for young Gunter.

It's been less than 6 months since Gunter made his league debut for City and the season has drawn to a close with a Welsh call up.

Wales face New Zealand in a friendly in Wrexham on May 26th and then welcome the Czech Republic to the Millennium Stadium on June 2nd in a Euro 2008 qualifier.

'I'm absolutely staggered, I can't believe this,' said Gunter when the Echo told him of his inclusion today.

'It just caps an unbelievable season for me. I'm just so excited at the prospect of possibly playing for my country.

'But for the time being all I'm focusing on is Cardiff's match at Ipswich on Sunday.'

There is no place in the squad for Paul Parry.
