Ledley looking forward to new season

Last updated : 04 July 2008 By Michael Morris

Joe Ledley would love to play in the Premier League, with Cardiff City. he local boy was expected to be one of the players to be sold this summer but so far there has been hardly any news on Joe possibly leaving the club.

Joe, along with Aaron Ramsey were seen as the most likely transfers out this summer. Ramsey has gone but Joe (thankfully) is still here.

Speaking to the Echo Joe explains that he's focussed on pre season and doing a job for Cardiff City.

"Every professional player in the land aspires to playing in the Premiership and I'm no different, ideally, I'd love to do it with my home club, that would be my dream - City in the Premiership," Ledley said.

"I like to see City really push on this season and go for it.

"With regards to all the speculation about a move away from the club, it really doesn't bother me.

"If it happens it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't.

"As it stands, I'm playing for a team that I supported as a boy and that's the biggest drive anybody could ask for.

"I don't know anything about a possible move. I'm just totally focussed on pre-season training and I have been topping up on my fitness throughout the summer."

(I hope that hasn't jinxed it now - MM)
