Leeds Utd relegated

Less than 30 months after David O'Leary brought his Leeds Utd superstars to Ninian Park the Yorkshiremen find themselves relegated and starting next season on an equal footing with Cardiff City.

On Jan 6th 2002 Cardiff City were a mid table Div 2 team while Leeds were top of the Premiership and in Europe. Cardiff won that day, 2 - 1. There was a lot of bad feeling after that game. Because of that the majority of City fans will be raising a glass at the demise of Leeds United.

Since then O'Leary has gone and is taking Asto Villa into Europe while Leeds have spiralled into debt and have now lost their Premiership status.

Along with Leeds Utd, Wolves and Leicester are also down. City will also be playing Plymouth next season after their promotion from Division 2. The second promotion place is still undecided from the 2nd division with either QPR or Bristol City getting the reward. That will be decided on the last day of the season next Saturday.
