Andy Legg was ecstatic at the response from City fans to his benefit game at Ninian Park. A larget than expected crowd meant kick off was delayed before scores of City players, past and present, played out a 4 - 1 win to the current squad.

'I just didn't expect that many supporters to turn out," Legg told the Echo

'It's been a great night in front of special fans.

'It was fantastic of Cardiff City to let me say goodbye to the Bluebirds supporters like this.

'I have always known Cardiff City fans are second to none and they've proved it yet again.

'It was great getting together again and the banter was just as good in the changing room as it used to be.

'It wasn't that long ago when many of us were playing together in the same team.'

A donation to local children's leukemia charity LATCH will be made by Andy Legg in addition to other money raised by the Rams and Supporters Club.
