Leicester v Cardiff

Last updated : 14 September 2010 By BBC Sport

Cardiff, already without Michael Chopra (ankle), are hoping strikers Craig Bellamy (knee) and Jay Bothroyd (calf) (Bothroyd has claimed on Twitter he is not ready) recover from injuries in time to play.

On-loan midfielder Danny Drinkwater, who missed Saturday's win against Hull because of an ankle problem, faces a late fitness test.

MATCH PREVIEW

Dave Jones' Cardiff, second in the table, travel to meet Leicester, who are second from bottom and still awaiting their first league win under manager Paulo Sousa.

Despite a disappointing start to his reign, Sousa's side have played some good football and shown signs of promise. They secured a deserved point at Coventry on Saturday courtesy of Andy King's 76th-minute equaliser and were the better team for much of the game.

But their season so far has been blighted by missed chances, and that was the case again at the Ricoh Arena, where Matty Fryatt, Martyn Waghorn and Lloyd Dyer all failed to take good opportunities. Cardiff have had no such problems, and were comfortable 2-0 winners at home to Hull at the weekend.

A victory against the Foxes could take Cardiff to the top of the Championship depending on how leaders Queens Park Rangers fare at Ipswich. It would also make this Leicester's worst start to a league season for 21 years.
