Gareth started his career at Crewe and he ended last season loan there. Dario Gradi was keen to sign him for this season but was not able to offer a package anywhere near that of Cardiff City and other clubs. Gareth played for Bradford when the were promoted to the Premiership and was with them during those two seasons in the top flight.
Gareth was released by Bradford, along with 15 other players, when the club went into adminstration.
