Lennie explains Gray matter

Lennie Lawrence has told the Echo why the Julian Gray deal is off.

There has been much speculation but the words of the manager are

"Julian Gray is a non-runner, we can't do it.

"Palace won't loan him, they want too much money and we can't agree terms.

"The sum of £500,000 has been put around. It is not as much as that, but whatever it is I consider it to be too much.

"They want X amount and want us to pay it in such and such a way.

"I have spoken to the chief executive at Palace and it has been a cordial negotiation, but we can't agree.

"I'm not shutting the door because he is a free at the end of the year, but for the moment it looks dead."
