Lennie Lawrence gets new job at Bristol Rovers

A Bristol Rovers club statement read: "Lennie Lawrence has been appointed director of football and will evaluate the entire football structure of the club, including contracts, scouting, our centre of excellence and the youth and first-team squads.

"We have refrained from appointing a manager at this juncture, and Paul Trollope will continue in his role as first-team coach and will be responsible for first-team training, selection and tactics.

"Paul has been aware of this process and he is looking forward to working with Lennie to change our playing fortunes. Both Lennie and Paul have the full support of the board of directors."

Good luck to Lennie, while it didn't all go to plan last season we still have to thank him for the 2003 play off promotion.
