Lennie looking at Matthias Svensson

Lawrence said about his striking options

"We haven't got a massive amount of cover in that position.

"I've spoken about the possibility of signing Svensson on loan, but it's no more than that at this stage because we're dealing with Premiership salaries."

Svensson came to the UK when Terry Venables signed him at Portsmouth in 1996. After a spell in Austria Vennables again signed him but for Crystal Palace. Then he made a £600,000 move to the Valley in 2000.

Svensson has started 41 league games for Charlton scoring 8 league goals.

I'm no football manager and don't even pretend to know more than Lennie but considering that Svensson last scored in May 2001 and has not scored in 33 games played for club and country sincethen I certainly hope Lennie and the CCFC board do not make any rash decisions.
