Lennie rested Legg (not his but Andy)

Legg, 36, was left out of the starting line up at Wigan but Lennie says he was only resting the player and he feels he can do a job for City this season and next season whether we are in Division 1 or 2. Legg's current contract runs out at the end of this season so Lennie's comments could be a suggesting a new contract could in the pipeline for Andy.

Lawrence told the Echo

"There is no doubt Andy can play beyond this season - even in Division One."

"There is every chance that Leggy will be in the starting line-up against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, and right now I can see him being at Cardiff City beyond the end of this season.

"He was rested at Wigan, but that came at the end of an intensive period of matches over the last three weeks or so. I still think that was the right decision. In hindsight, maybe I should have made more changes, rested more players.

"If I use Andy Legg as I think fit, both this season and next, there is a lot more to come from him in a Cardiff City shirt."

City played the old 4 - 3 - 3 formation at Wigan but will surely revert to 4 - 4 - 2 this Saturday, as City entertain Wycombe, with Legg taking his place back on the left wing.
