Leon Jeanne dismissed by Cardiff City

The Echo today are running another Leon Jeanne exclusive. On Tuesday they revealed the young player had failed a drug test, yesterday it was revealed that Jeanne was protesting his innocence and there was an explanation for his refusal to give a second teast but today it seems the end has come on Jeanne's City career.

The player has told the Echo

"I have received a letter from Cardiff City saying I am no longer wanted."

Quoting sources close to Cardiff City owner Sam Hammam, the Echo continues

"Leon Jeanne is out no matter what happens now. Sam will not renew his contract and no matter what happens from now he will not be a Cardiff City player and will not kick a ball for the club again."

Its thought that if Leon's sample is positive (results are due back on Friday) or he is found guilty of refusing a test which is deemed a failure he will be sacked with immediate effect. If he passes the test then it's thought that Sam Hammam will fine him the maximum amount of 2 weeks wages but he will not have his contract renewed in July.

Jeanne, a former Wales U21 international has been dogged by personal problems. Alcohol and drug abuse have tormented the player and Cardiff City took him in and gave him every chance. Jeanne is currently serving a 2 year suspended sentence for being tested positive of a class A drug. City have sent him to the Priory for re-hab. City employee and former player Ronnie Bird offered Jeanne a home and City Chief Exec David Temme has dedictated many hours on Leon Jeanne and was instrumental in the suspended sentence handed out by the FAW when they wanted to ban him.

It's a sad story with no winners.
