Level headed Collins on transfer speculation

Collins was linked with two offers from West Ham last week as City's cash crisis was made public.

Graham Kavanagh was sold with others predicted to follow. West Ham made a derisory offer for Collins and a second offer was also knowcked back by City. Collins has signed a contract extention to 2008. His aim was to keep doing his job for City.

No one said anything to me and I just concentrated on playing well for Cardiff City," Collins said.

"If someone came up to me and said 'You're off' that would have been different. I'm still here, I'm still playing for Cardiff and I wouldn't have signed a deal until 2008 if I didn't want to stay.

"Hopefully I can see out my contract. Players are the club's assets and, if the club is in trouble, there are going to be people sniffing. I hope the club can get sorted, everyone can stay and we can have a good season next season."
