Only one other starter as Kadeem Harris played 71 minutes in Barnsley's 2-0 win over Gillingham, for whom Deji Oshilaja was missing again through injury. Kadeem came close to his first goal as a combination of strength and skill led to a powerful shot being well saved.

Eoin Doyle didn't make it off the bench for Preston as they drew with Wolves, for whom Adam le Fondre played the second half. David Tutonda came on in the 65th minute as York lost at Notts County while Rhys Healey got on near the end of Dundee's draw with Ross County. No game for Lierse this week, presumably so Etien Velikonja can clear the huge backlog of supermarket openings and visits to sick children that his celebrity status over there demands of him.

No shortage of action for our former players though. Three goals in three La Liga games for Javi Guerra at Real Vallecano and three goals in two games for Rudy Gestede as Aston Villa beat Birmingham but lost to Liverpool yesterday. Three goals for Guido Burgstaller too including two late ones on Friday to rescue a point for Nurnberg. Ross McCormack got two in Fulham's win over QPR and Andreas Cornelius got another for Copenhagen midweek. Simon Lappin scored the winner for St Johnstone yesterday, Joe Jacobson scored with a free kick for Wycombe and even Ben Nugent got in on the act, equalising for Crewe at Walsall with a piledriver (ish).

Two players who won't be scoring goals for a while are Kevin Theophile-Catherine (broken metatarsal) and Mats Moller Daehli, who continues to struggle with knee problems in Germany. A speedy recovery to both.
