Loovens agrees to sign 3 year deal?

The Echo are claiming today that Glenn Loovens has verbally agreed a 3 year contract with Cardiff City.

City are said to have agreed a £250,000 fee with Feyenoord for the young defender and now sources from Holland are saying Loovens will sign next week. There has been no confirmation from the club on this matter but the correct policy is to only announce these things when the ink is dry on the contract.

Dave Jones has commented on that matter this week.

"My policy is not to talk about who any of our targets might be in advance. That's the way I've always been," said Jones.

"As far as I'm concerned, you won't know a player has signed for Cardiff until he's sat next to me at Ninian Park and he's signed his contract and the inks dry.

This Sunday will see Glenn play the last game of his loan spell.

Loovens himself has always said the right things

"I don't want to go back to Holland, I feel at home here," he told the Echo.

"I have always wanted to play in the English League and I'd love to stay.

'Feyenoord know my feelings and they have told me they are willing to let me go. At my age I need to play every week.

'Dave Jones has got the best out of me, having not known much about me at the start.

'I hope I have paid him back this season. But I'm young and have a lot of improving to do so I hope there is still more to come.'
