Dutch defender Gelnn Loovens has become a first choice at Ninian Park. Now into his second season with City Loovens has played over 50 matches for the Bluebirds. He's hoping to help City towards the Premiership this season.

'The gaffer makes sure we know that being top is an experience every footballer wants.

'We have worked hard to get there and we won't let it slip without a fight.

'Our defeat against Queens Park Rangers at home was disappointing, but now we are focused on going to Sheffield Wednesday for three points.'

'I'm feeling good, I'm enjoying my football,' he added.

'Confidence among the players remains high and we are working together.

'There were always going to be the odd setback over the season, but we have 36 points from 18 matches - and that is right on the target we set at the start of the season.'

I believe this country has the best league in the world - the Premiership.

'And that's where I want to play for Cardiff City.'

On his international ambitions Glen said

"Sure it's a dream and an honour to play for your country, but I'm not currently thinking about the Dutch team at the moment, I'm thinking about Cardiff City.

"All I'm concentrating on is getting to The Premiership with Cardiff, that's my main goal now."
