Loovens suspended for two games

The Bluebirds will face Leeds on Saturday and W.B.A. three days later without Glenn Loovens or Darren Purse.

Purse is injured but Loovens will be suspended after his sending off on Saturday.

The two yellow cards received by the Dutchman was enough to earn a one match ban but as it was his second red of the season the ban becomes two matches.

City can move in the loan market and that could be an option for Jones. Coventry's equaliser on Saturday after Glenn went off showed the lack of height we had at the back and we were lucky to have two other goals from headers against us disallowed. On another day they may have been allowed to stand.

"Darren will be out for another two or three weeks so we may have to look for a loan signing," said Dave Jones.

"We might get Riccy Scimeca and Jason Byrne back soon, but there's no way to force Darren's early return.

"We've been swapping and changing people and asking them to play out of position, so I give the squad nothing but credit."
