Jon Parkin played 57 minutes for Doncaster yesterday as they won their first game of the season beating Crystal Palace 1 - 0 at The Keepmoat. Jon Oster scored the winning goal.

He is there on an initial months loan.

When asked why he had been loaned City boss Mackay said|:

“Jon from the first day I was here applied himself really well. He’s trained every day and not missed a session and he worked as hard as anyone preseason.

“He’s a smashing lad, a very funny boy too. It’s nothing to do with personality. It was nothing to do with my ethos on the game why he is not here. I just feel there are other players in front of him now when it comes to the way we want to play and he wants to play football.”
