“Derby games tend to be unpredictable. It’s important to distance yourself from all that’s around you, but they are important to fans. You can go in the next morning to work with the bragging rights. But it’s important we focus on our game-plan. It should be a good game with both teams trying to get points. They are improving and they are adjusting in the division.”

Steve Cotterill:

“I can see the lads’ confidence more now. I think there has been progress with lots of little things. Some of the things that saw us get burned earlier in the season are not happening so often now. There is a gradual process the boys are going through and I think they are coming through it. Sometimes you have to progress before you can get the results.”

Cotterill caused a bit of a stir when claiming the match was not a derby,

He said to the media: "You say it's a derby.

"The only derby I know involving Bristol City is against Bristol Rovers really.

"It doesn't matter anyway; whether it's a derby game or not, we want to play well and win."
