"We are preparing for a long Championship season and this is a boost for everybody at the club," said Jones. "We worked hard and earned our victory.

"We are still not 100 per cent yet. The players are at around 85 per cent right now and we will build on that up to the Ajax game next Friday.

"Cardiff do not often get the opportunity to play in this level of competition and we've shown we can mix with the best."

"There aren't many, or any, managers in the history of Cardiff City who can say they've beaten Celtic.

"Hopefully, following on from our FA Cup exploits last season, this will help us attract players.

"We are trying to get new players in and this win, beating two European Champions League teams in succession, hasn't done us any harm at all."

I can't seem to find any comments on record from Gordon Strachan. Maybe he would have said a bit more if they had won?
