Lennie Lawrence (after City 0 - 1 Stoke)

"We played with spirit but just couldn't convert any of the chances we made for ourselves. At the moment things are not going our way but there is no point in feeling sorry for ourselves. Once again we have failed to break down a packed defence and that is something we have to continue working on."

Tony Pulis

"I am very pleased with the result as I knew we would have to sustain a strong challenge from Cardiff but we battled away and kept our shape. There is a good spirit within the squad and they all worked for each other dealing with the threat of crosses into the box very well. We had the five best chances of the game and I'm a bit disappointed we only managed to put one away."

Lennie Lawrence (after Wigan 2 - 1 City)

"We gave ourselves a mountain to climb after the first half but it was the best we have played all season during the second half. You can either lie down or die at 2-0 down or you can come back. We came back and the second half performance was encouraging. But you can't make errors like we did and not expect to get punished."

Paul Jewell

"I thought we deserved the win but I just wish we had done it a bit more comfortably. To be fair I don't think they were in the game at 2-0, but once they got their penalty it gave them a lift, and then we were hanging on for a bit. John Filan seemed to think he got a touch to the ball for their penalty but I thought ours was a stonewall penalty. I didn't have much of a view of them to be honest but that's how I saw them anyway."
