"It was like a testimonial and you could understand if maybe some of the players weren't too bothered.

"We had too much time on the ball and so did they. At half-time we emphasised what needed to change and the second half performance was much better.

"We are a progressive club and for the first time people are starting to talk about football here and how we can go on and improve the squad.

"We had a chance to finish in the top 10 and we hadn't done that since relegation. Now we have and that is a fantastic achievement.

"The set-up here is terrific and now we are just going to try to bring in the quality we need on the pitch, that's my aim."

"In the last three or four games we have played really good football but we have got to learn to kill teams off. We had enough chances to do that.

"We have to cut out basic silly errors. The first goal was a bad one to give away, the second was a poor goal and then the third just killed us off.

"We know where we are and it's just a case of getting on with it.

"The squad we have isn't good enough and I have told the boys that.

"We had an opportunity to push on when we knew we would be safe but we didn't take it.

"Maybe psychologically when we knew we were safe we just switched off."
