"All three of Cardiff's goals have come from mistakes by us, and that it something we have not done before all season.

"We defended very well, but we didn't deny, and that has cost us."

Lennie Lawrence

"We went out to get the first goal and win the game, but we had to win it twice. Stoke had their moments, but for once the result has matched our performance.

Looking ahead to Saturday Lennie said. "Wigan have been under a bit of pressure. They've lost again but perhaps, in a perverse kind of way, a bit of pressure will be off them on Saturday because it looks as if they're heading for the play-offs now.

"One thing's for sure - it's going to be a humdinger of a match. We've leapfrogged a few teams at the bottom and Saturday's now going to be a very interesting day."
