"There was no tempo to our play in the opening half, but we did make things happen after the break when we got amongst them," he said.

"We had enough chances in the second half, but they sat back deep and though we tried hard to draw them out it didn't work.

"I never thought that they would score and if we had started at the tempo we finished, we may have earned the victory.

"It just needed the ball to run a little more kindly for us and we would have done it.

"We have to be patient - even those supporters whose expectations levels are now much higher."

"Considering Cardiff's form before the game it was a good point for us.

"In the first half we had a couple of chances and could have got even more out of the game, but they pushed us back in the second half and we were forced to defend for long periods.

"If we had taken those early chances at the other end it could have been even better for us but I am well satisfied with the draw.

"We can now go into the Christmas period full of confidence after three clean sheets in our last five games."
