"I felt that once we scored we should have gone on and imposed ourselves on the game.

"But we just sat back and never really got going until the last 10 minutes, when we should have scored.

"The ball should have been put in the back of the net (by Ricketts) but other people should have been there for the second ball to head it in.

"Even though I'm not sure we deserved it, we should still have came away with a point."

"Everyone came here today expecting us to build on our recent success but people shouldn't get carried away.

"If we look at what has gone on at this club, they have raised everyone's expectations considerably.

"We are building solid foundations here and that means doing things block by block. The next test is how the players react to this defeat - that's the real test."

Mike Newell

"I thought we should have won by more, to be honest.

"We controlled the game today and it would have been difficult to take had we not gone away with the three points.

"We gave away a sloppy goal but we had more than enough chances after that to have gone on and won comfortably.

"We had chances to put them out of reach but we weren't quite able to do that."

"That (Ricketts effort off the post) would have been very harsh because I think we fully deserved the win.

"There are always going to be chances that come and go, but the 2-1 scoreline did not flatter us whatsoever."
