"The old saying of a week in politics is a long time was highlighted this week in football in terms of performance and results.

"I was at pains last week to point out things will change. Look where we are this week, things look different after two wins. I am delighted when things are going well and the game should have been finished.

"We got anxious towards the end but it just shows what a difference seven days can make. But I didn't get carried away last week and I am not going to get carried away this week."

"Sunderland are the best team we have played for a long time. I was very impressed with their front two. Marcus Stewart was easily the best player on the pitch and the other lad (Elliott), he's not bad either.

"They were very dangerous and we did not have the same quality up front. Vidmar's late goal gave us a chance to set up a grandstand finish, but that's all about we deserved.

After today's results we have been sucked back into the relegation zone again, it's as simple as that so Saturday's game with Sheffield United is massive to us."
