Manager's comments after Turf Moor draw

Dave Jones

"When you get yourselves into a position like that, you should shut the game down. It's a bad goal to give away.

"It was the same at Wolves, we just didn't know how to close it down and be ugly, and put balls into corners.

"There was a little bit of pressure at the death that you know you're going to get."

"When you score three goals away from home, you should win the game.

"We came back twice so we showed a lot of character and a lot of determination. Some of our defending in the first half was a bit woeful but the second half we shored it up and deservedly went in front.

"When you get your noses in front it feels like a loss like two weeks ago against Wolves."

"We certainly could defend better than we have done, not only here but all season.

"We've been scoring goals but we've been shipping them, that's our problem.

"The difficult part is scoring them and we seem to be finding the difficult part defending them. Last season we were king of clean sheets and we seem to be a bit edgy at the moment.

"We are getting done at the moment on individual errors and the sooner we can eradicate that the better.

"We haven't conceded a bad goal as a team today, there haven't been mix-ups, they're just losses of concentration and those instances have not been kind to us.

"I wonder if that last five minutes was the turning point in our season. We could easily have given in then.

"When you're out there and things are going against you, it would have been easy then for all of them to not have the ball, to go and hide, to not make a mistake."

"It was pretty good for the neutral but I'm sure mine and Dave Jones' hearts didn't enjoy it too much - mine didn't anyway.

"At the moment, if you want to see goals come and watch Burnley."
