"We now have four players out and I may have to go to my chairman and ask for some money to sign one or two loan players.

"That is three wins on the bounce and it is important for us to keep the run going. At half-time there was a lot of concern for Kevin in the dressing room and the fact that we lost two full-backs through injury caused us more than a little disruption but we have come away with a clean sheet and the points."

"I'm very disappointed with the result particularly as we created chances.

"It is always an uphill struggle when you go down early on but that is the reason why we are in our present position.

"The important thing for us now is to start picking up points and there are plenty to play for between now and the end of the season.

"Cardiff have every chance of getting a promotion place as they are in the top six but there are some very big clubs still in the mix."
