Managers quotes after Margate

"It was a solid, professional performance. Job done. Said Lennie.

"We started too slowly and they had a golden opportunity. If they had scored from that it would have been a long afternoon, but they didn't and we took control in the last 20 minutes of the first half. After the break we passed the ball well and our approach play was good. We worked hard and deserved to win against a Margate team who came out with credit.

"Jason Bowen was my man of the match and if he had scored from that late chance he created for himself it would have capped his afternoon. He must be more ruthless, but he was massively influential."

Margate boss Chris Kinnear said.
"Cardiff are a good side. I watched them at QPR and they won 4-0 - so at least we can say we did a little better than them QPR. It's not easy playing against a good side like Cardiff. Our plan was to stop Earnshaw from scoring which we did. Unfortunately for us, some of the other Cardiff play-ers scored."

"We mustn't be too disappointed about this result. We've got a lot of media coverage from this cup run and we reached the second round. It's better to get to the second round than to lose in the fourth qualifying round. We've had four good games in this competition and we've enjoyed the experience."

"There wasn't as much passion as I expected. It was a bit eerie. Maybe if Cardiff had brought some more fans there would have been more banter. It was very quiet. My players are disappointed, but they shouldn't be because we got to the second round. I thought we did well in the first 20 minutes against Cardiff. Had we scored first it might have been different."
