"We conceded a poor goal in the first-half and we were just whacking the ball upfield. That's not acceptable to me or the fans. We are a passing side.

"To be fair, we were a lot better in the second half. We defended better. Perhaps the penny has finally dropped there. There was also a big improvement in our passing in the second half. When things are not going our way I don't want the players just whacking the ball up the pitch.

"The first goal lifted us and deflated Coventry. I thought we were worthy winners in the end. Earnie scored a goalscorer's goal and Lee scored a terrific goal. When things aren't going for you, as was the case in the first-half, then you want to get to half-time at 0-0, not 1-0 down because you've conceded a daft goal.

"We got away with it tonight - but we won't always get away with it."

Adrian Heath

"I think we deserved to get something out of the game, particularly after taking the lead but we gave silly fouls away around the box and suffered as a result.

"We had spoken about the threat of Earnshaw and Robinson's diagonal runs yet allowed them the space to hurt us.

"In general our plan worked and we kept Earnshaw quiet for most of the game and I think Cardiff will consider themselves lucky to get all three points."
