"Yet again we have let in another soft goal. All we did particularly in the first half was whack the ball down the field and that is totally unacceptable.

"We didn't show enough determination to play football and although we improved in the second half we had wasted the first 45 minutes.

"It is my responsibility and I must put it right. Away from home is not an issue it is our home form that is the problem. I have to change things as that central issue needs addressing immediately.

"Three of the four goals conceded this season have come from set pieces and that tells its own story."

"It was a fortunate winner but they all count.

"The most important factor is not how we played but that we won and sent our fans home happy. The only save our keeper Luke McCormick had to make was a late strike from Graham Kavanagh.

"We have a bit of quality and strength in depth and that should be good for the club during the coming season.

"Cardiff had a right go and finished up with four or five attackers but we held out reasonably comfortably."
