"I have been itching to use Paul Parry in an attacking role and it came off today as I had hoped it would.

"It is the best we have played and not won since I have been at Cardiff. It should have been three points today but things are looking very promising in the longer term.

"We only had two players over the age of 25 in the side and I am hugely encouraged, as they were a very experienced side and we were better on the day."

Dave Bassett (caretaker manager)

"The woodwork did save us on a few occasions and we had a bit of luck, but as we have been down on that lately it is about time it ran our way.

"The new manager Craig Levein watched the game and will start work at the club on Monday.

"Whether he will be content with the present squad or feel that he has to make changes, that will certainly be left to him."
